IP Whitelist

What Is the IP Whitelist Feature in 1024Proxy?

IP Whitelist is an authentication-free proxy access method provided by 1024Proxy. In addition to the common Username & Password Authentication mode, the IP whitelist offers users a more convenient and efficient authorization solution.

By adding a trusted local outbound IP address to the IP whitelist, the system automatically identifies the source of the request. As long as the request originates from an IP on the whitelist, users can directly call the API and use proxy IPs without including a username or password in the request, significantly simplifying the configuration process.

Core Advantages of the IP Whitelist

  • ✅ No username/password required: No need to expose credentials in code or tools

  • ✅ Simpler configuration: Ideal for fixed servers or cloud-hosted environments

  • ✅ Secure and controllable: Only whitelisted IPs are allowed to access proxy resources

  • ✅ Automation-friendly: Fewer parameters reduce configuration errors

For users with a fixed outbound IP, the IP whitelist provides a more stable and secure proxy usage method.

Applicable Use Cases

The IP whitelist mode is particularly suitable for the following scenarios:

Automated Scripts and Crawlers

  • Avoid hardcoding usernames and passwords in code

  • Improve overall security

Enterprise or Multi-Project Usage

  • Multiple services access proxies through the same outbound IP

  • Centralized and easier management

High-Concurrency API Requests

  • Reduce authentication steps

  • Improve request efficiency and stability

Security-Sensitive Businesses

  • Prevent credential leakage or misuse

How to Use the IP Whitelist

1

Obtain Your Outbound IP

Before using the IP whitelist, first confirm the public outbound IP of your device or server. You can obtain this by visiting an IP lookup website or running relevant commands on your server.

2

Add the IP to the Whitelist

Log in to the 1024Proxy user dashboard, go to the IP Whitelist / Security Settings page, add your public IP address to the whitelist, and save the settings.

Call the Proxy or API Directly

Once the whitelist has been successfully added, you can call the API in API mode. The system will automatically complete authentication based on the source IP of the request. After a successful call, the API will return an IP and port. We support two return formats, which you can choose according to your business needs.

This method is especially suitable for long-running programs and server-side applications, significantly reducing configuration complexity.

Usage Recommendations & Best Practices

  • Only add trusted, fixed IP addresses to the whitelist

  • Do not add dynamic IPs or public network IPs arbitrarily

  • Regularly review and remove unused whitelisted IPs

  • If using multiple servers, add each corresponding outbound IP separately
