# Network Protocol

### HTTP Proxy

An HTTP proxy is an application-layer proxy protocol primarily used to forward standard HTTP requests. However, HTTP proxies only support plaintext transmission, meaning data is not encrypted during transfer. As a result, their security and privacy protection capabilities are limited, making traffic easier to intercept or identify as proxy traffic. HTTP proxies are more suitable for general web browsing, basic data scraping, or network scenarios with low security requirements.

### HTTPS Proxy

An HTTPS proxy is an extension of the HTTP proxy designed to support encrypted HTTPS traffic. It typically uses the CONNECT tunneling mechanism to establish an encrypted channel between the client and the target server, ensuring data is protected by TLS encryption during transmission. The proxy server itself does not decrypt or inspect the encrypted content; it only forwards data, making HTTPS proxies significantly more secure and privacy-friendly than HTTP proxies.

HTTPS proxies are widely used in scenarios involving account logins, form submissions, and sensitive data transmission, such as cross-border e-commerce dashboards, overseas website management, and advertising platform operations. However, since they are still based on the HTTP protocol framework, they may still be identified as proxy traffic by some strict risk control systems.

1024Proxy supports multiple protocol types, including HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5.

Below is a basic example using cURL. You can click here to view sample code in other programming languages.

```
curl -x HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

In addition, you can click here to learn how to achieve precise proxy IP rotation and regional filtering by modifying code parameters.\
1024Proxy supports filtering and configuration based on the following parameters: IP address, country/region, city, ASN, and session type.

### SOCKS5 Proxy

SOCKS5 is a lower-level and highly versatile proxy protocol that operates at the session layer and is independent of specific application protocols. It is only responsible for establishing connections and forwarding data streams, without inspecting the content itself. As a result, SOCKS5 supports a wide range of traffic types, including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, gaming traffic, and various application communications.

SOCKS5 supports both TCP and UDP forwarding and provides username/password authentication, offering excellent compatibility and anonymity. Because it does not parse traffic content, SOCKS5 is widely used in scenarios such as multi-account management, access to high-risk-control platforms, automation scripts, fingerprint browsers, and cloud phones. Although SOCKS5 itself does not provide built-in encryption, when combined with application-layer encryption or HTTPS, it can still deliver high levels of security and stability. It is currently one of the most preferred proxy protocols among professional users.

```
curl --socks5 HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

### Additional Tools

In addition to using proxy protocols directly, you can also leverage third-party proxy tools—such as AdsPower, BitBrowser, and Chrome—to simplify the setup and extraction process. For more details, please refer here. The related documentation provides comprehensive instructions on how to use anti-detect fingerprint browsers and other proxy tools to enable proxy-based access to business websites.

# Username & Password Authentication

### What Is Username\&Password Authentication?

Username\&Password Authentication (also known as Account & Password Authentication) is a common and fundamental identity verification method. When using a proxy service, users are required to enter a Username\&Password in the connection request. The proxy server verifies these credentials first, and only grants access to network resources after successful authentication.

Key Features

✅ No fixed local IP required — usable from any network environment

✅ Flexible configuration — suitable for multiple users, multiple devices, or automated programs

✅ Secure and controllable — passwords can be changed or accounts disabled at any time

# Location Configuration

## Location Settings

1024Proxy enables fine-grained proxy IP location control—from country to city, and from geographic location to network carrier—through a multi-dimensional parameter combination of Country / Region + State / Province + City + ASN.\
Users can flexibly combine these parameters according to their business needs, achieving higher stability and success rates while ensuring anonymity and security.

### Country / Region

This parameter is used to specify the country or region to which the proxy IP belongs. It is the most basic and commonly used filter in proxy location targeting.\
In 1024Proxy, countries or regions are represented using ISO 3166-1 two-letter country codes (internationally standardized 2-letter country codes), for example:

* `US` → United States
* `GB` → United Kingdom
* `DE` → Germany
* `JP` → Japan
* `KR` → South Korea

By specifying the Country/Region parameter, users can accurately obtain local IPs from the target country. This is widely used in scenarios such as cross-border e-commerce, overseas website access, localized content testing, and ad placement verification.

To look up country codes, [please visit the corresponding reference page.](https://1024proxy.com/en/subject/resource/)

### State / Province

This parameter further narrows down the IP location to a specific state or provincial-level administrative region within the selected country or region.\
It is particularly useful for countries with large geographic areas and significant network differences between states or provinces, such as the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Examples:

* California, United States
* New York, United States
* Ontario, Canada

Filtering by state or province allows the proxy IP to better match real local user network environments, improving account stability and business relevance.

### City

The City parameter is used to specify the exact city-level location of the proxy IP, providing a more granular level of targeting.\
This feature is suitable for scenarios with very strict geographic requirements, such as:

* Local search result testing
* Local advertisement display verification
* Localized social media account operations
* Accessing region-restricted content

Even within the same country and state, IP behavior patterns and risk-control thresholds may vary between cities. City-level targeting can effectively improve operational success rates.

### ASN (Autonomous System Number)

ASN refers to the Autonomous System Number of the proxy IP, which identifies the network operator or Internet Service Provider (ISP) the IP belongs to.\
By using the ASN parameter, users can precisely control the ISP source of the IP—such as selecting residential networks or mainstream local ISPs—and avoid network segments that are flagged or subject to strict risk controls.

Common use cases include:

* Avoiding risk controls tied to specific ISPs
* Matching the network environment commonly used by target users
* Improving account login reliability and long-term operational stability

### Code Examples

#### Country / Region

The following example demonstrates how to extract an IP from Louisiana, United States.\
By adding `-region-US-st-Louisiana`, the proxy protocol can be directed to a precise geographic location.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-st-Louisiana:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-st-Louisiana:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

#### City

The following example demonstrates how to extract an IP from New Orleans, Louisiana, United States.\
By adding `-region-US-st-Louisiana-city-New Orleans`, the proxy protocol can be directed to a city-level location.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-st-Louisiana-city-New Orleans:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-st-Louisiana-city-New Orleans:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

#### ASN

The following example uses ASN AS11272 to demonstrate how to precisely extract a proxy IP by modifying the parameter to `region-US-asn-AS11272`.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-asn-AS11272:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-asn-AS11272:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

# Session Management

## Session Control

### Session Type

1024Proxy provides two session modes to control how proxy IPs are used:

* Sticky IP
* Rotating IP

Different session types are suitable for different business scenarios. Choosing the appropriate session mode can significantly improve stability, success rates, and account security.

### Sticky IP

A Sticky IP session means that the proxy continuously assigns and uses the same IP address within a single session period.\
As long as the session has not expired or been manually terminated, all subsequent requests will continue to use the same IP.

With 1024Proxy, the Sticky IP session duration ranges from 1 to 120 minutes. Users can configure a single IP to remain fixed for 1–120 minutes of continuous requests.

<figure><img src="/files/1BycivevugAwM7olhN4C" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Key Features

* ✅ IP remains unchanged during the session period
* ✅ Behavior closely resembles that of real users
* ✅ Reduces the risk of detection caused by frequent IP changes
* ✅ Ideal for scenarios requiring login status or continuous operations

#### Use Cases

* Account login and long-running online operations\
  (within 1–120 minutes; for longer-term usage, please choose long-term static ISP IPs)
* Social media account management (login, browsing, posting)\
  (within 1–120 minutes; for longer-term usage, please choose long-term static ISP IPs)
* Cross-border e-commerce store backend management\
  (within 1–120 minutes; for longer-term usage, please choose long-term static ISP IPs)
* Applications that require maintaining cookies or sessions
* Continuous request tasks in automated scripts

#### Usage Recommendations

* Use an appropriate session duration based on your business needs
* Avoid high-frequency or abnormal operations under the same IP
* If an IP becomes unstable or restricted, start a new session to obtain a new IP

### Rotating IP

A Rotating IP session means that the system automatically assigns a different proxy IP for each request or within very short intervals, without any manual switching required.\
There is no session duration setting in this mode, and the IP cannot remain fixed for a specific period of time.

#### Key Features

* 🔄 IP automatically changes with each request
* 🔄 High utilization of proxy pool resources
* 🔄 Effectively distributes access pressure
* 🔄 No need to maintain session state

#### Use Cases

* Large-scale web scraping and data collection
* Search engine results harvesting
* Price monitoring and market intelligence
* Public data access without login requirements
* High-concurrency, short-request workloads

#### Usage Recommendations

* Not suitable for use cases that require long-term logins or maintaining persistent sessions
* Control request frequency to simulate realistic browsing behavior
* Combine with Country / City / ASN parameters for precise IP rotation

### How to Choose the Right Session Type

| Use Case | Recommended Session Type |
| ------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| Login required / identity persistence | Sticky IP |
| High-frequency access without login   | Rotating IP                         |
| Social media & e-commerce accounts    | Sticky IP                           |
| Web crawlers & data scraping | Rotating IP |
| Risk-control–sensitive operations     | Sticky IP + reasonable request rate |

### Summary

The fundamental difference between Sticky IP and Rotating IP in 1024Proxy lies in whether the IP address remains stable.\
Users can flexibly select or combine session types based on their requirements for stability, concurrency, and anonymity, ensuring higher business success rates while maintaining security.

### Example Code

The following examples use German proxy IPs to demonstrate how to configure session types by adding parameters such as\
`-sid-<Session ID>-t-<minutes>` to enable scheduled IP rotation or automatic rotation.

#### Rotating IP Mode

In this mode, the IP is not fixed. A new IP is automatically assigned for each request.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

#### Sticky IP Mode

In this mode, the IP remains fixed for the configured sticky duration.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE-sid-ENQzeWjG-t-5:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE-sid-ENQzeWjG-t-5:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

# IP Whitelist

### What Is the IP Whitelist Feature in 1024Proxy?

IP Whitelist is an authentication-free proxy access method provided by 1024Proxy.\
In addition to the common Username & Password Authentication mode, the IP whitelist offers users a more convenient and efficient authorization solution.

By adding a trusted local outbound IP address to the IP whitelist, the system automatically identifies the source of the request.\
As long as the request originates from an IP on the whitelist, users can directly call the API and use proxy IPs without including a username or password in the request, significantly simplifying the configuration process.

### Core Advantages of the IP Whitelist

* ✅ No username/password required: No need to expose credentials in code or tools
* ✅ Simpler configuration: Ideal for fixed servers or cloud-hosted environments
* ✅ Secure and controllable: Only whitelisted IPs are allowed to access proxy resources
* ✅ Automation-friendly: Fewer parameters reduce configuration errors

For users with a fixed outbound IP, the IP whitelist provides a more stable and secure proxy usage method.

### Applicable Use Cases

The IP whitelist mode is particularly suitable for the following scenarios:

#### Automated Scripts and Crawlers

* Avoid hardcoding usernames and passwords in code
* Improve overall security

#### Enterprise or Multi-Project Usage

* Multiple services access proxies through the same outbound IP
* Centralized and easier management

#### High-Concurrency API Requests

* Reduce authentication steps
* Improve request efficiency and stability

#### Security-Sensitive Businesses

* Prevent credential leakage or misuse

### How to Use the IP Whitelist

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Obtain Your Outbound IP

Before using the IP whitelist, first confirm the public outbound IP of your device or server.\
You can obtain this by visiting an IP lookup website or running relevant commands on your server.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add the IP to the Whitelist

Log in to the 1024Proxy user dashboard, go to the IP Whitelist / Security Settings page, add your public IP address to the whitelist, and save the settings.

<figure><img src="/files/XBb5RDbYhBBHnfXmX4of" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/YIk9F6pLY5syqx9CifPo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Notes:

* Only public IP addresses are supported
* If your IP changes, be sure to update the whitelist in time; otherwise, proxy access will fail
  {% endhint %}
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Call the Proxy or API Directly

Once the whitelist has been successfully added, you can call the API in API mode. The system will automatically complete authentication based on the source IP of the request. After a successful call, the API will return an IP and port. We support two return formats, which you can choose according to your business needs.

<figure><img src="/files/4OXgWzSrXFZijXt5WYfx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This method is especially suitable for long-running programs and server-side applications, significantly reducing configuration complexity.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Usage Recommendations & Best Practices

* Only add trusted, fixed IP addresses to the whitelist
* Do not add dynamic IPs or public network IPs arbitrarily
* Regularly review and remove unused whitelisted IPs
* If using multiple servers, add each corresponding outbound IP separately

# Network Protocol

#### HTTP Proxy

HTTP Proxy is a proxy protocol that works at the application layer and is mainly used to forward standard HTTP requests. However, HTTP Proxy only supports plaintext transmission, and data is not encrypted during transmission, resulting in limited security and privacy protection capabilities. It is easy to be monitored or identified as proxy traffic. It is more suitable for general web browsing, basic data scraping, or network scenarios with low security requirements.

#### HTTPS Proxy

HTTPS Proxy is developed on the basis of HTTP Proxy and is mainly used to support encrypted HTTPS traffic. It usually establishes an encrypted channel between the client and the target server through the CONNECT tunnel mechanism, allowing data to be protected by TLS encryption during transmission. The proxy server itself does not parse the encrypted content, but only forwards the data, so it is significantly superior to HTTP Proxy in terms of security and privacy protection. HTTPS Proxy is widely used in scenarios involving account login, form submission, and sensitive information transmission, such as cross-border e-commerce backends, overseas website management, and advertising platform operations. However, since it is still based on the HTTP protocol framework, it may still be identified as proxy access in some strict risk control systems.

1024Proxy supports multiple protocol types such as HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS5.

Below is a basic example using cURL. You can click here to view code examples in other languages.

```
curl -x HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

#### SOCKS5 Proxy

SOCKS5 is a more low-level and highly versatile proxy protocol that works at the session layer and does not rely on specific application protocols. It is only responsible for establishing connections and forwarding data streams, without caring about the data content itself. Therefore, it can support HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, game traffic, and various program communications. At the same time, SOCKS5 supports TCP and UDP forwarding and provides username and password authentication mechanisms, offering excellent compatibility and anonymity. Because it does not parse traffic content, SOCKS5 is widely used in scenarios such as multi-account operations, high-risk-control platform access, automated scripts, fingerprint browsers, and cloud phones. Although SOCKS5 itself does not provide encryption capabilities, when used together with application-layer encryption or HTTPS, it can still achieve high security and stability, and it is currently one of the proxy protocols most favored by professional users.

```
curl --socks5 HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

# IP Whitelist

### What is the IP Whitelist Feature in 1024Proxy?

IP Whitelist is a proxy usage method provided by 1024Proxy that allows authentication without using a username and password.

In addition to the common Username & Password Authentication mode, the IP whitelist provides users with a more convenient and efficient authorization solution.

By adding a trusted local outbound IP address to the IP whitelist, the system will automatically recognize the request source. As long as the request comes from an IP within the whitelist, you can directly call the API interface and use the proxy IP without entering a username and password in the request, thereby simplifying the configuration process.

#### Core Advantages of IP Whitelist

✅ No account and password authentication: No need to expose usernames and passwords in code or tools\
✅ Easier configuration: Suitable for fixed servers or cloud hosting environments\
✅ Secure and controllable: Only whitelisted IPs are allowed to access proxy resources\
✅ More suitable for automation: Reduces parameter configuration and lowers the risk of errors

For users with fixed outbound IPs, the IP whitelist is a more stable and secure usage method.

### Applicable Scenarios

The IP whitelist mode is particularly suitable for the following scenarios:

Automated scripts and crawler programs\
Avoid hardcoding account passwords in code and improve security

Enterprise-level or multi-project usage\
Multiple services can call the proxy through the same outbound IP, making unified management more convenient

High-concurrency API call scenarios\
Reduce authentication steps and improve request efficiency and stability

Businesses with high security requirements\
Prevent account password leakage or misuse

### How to Use the IP Whitelist?

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Obtain Your Local Outbound IP

Before using the IP whitelist, please confirm the public outbound IP address of your current device or server.\
You can obtain it by visiting an IP query website or executing relevant commands on your server.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add the IP to the Whitelist

Log in to the 1024Proxy user dashboard, go to the IP Whitelist page, add your public IP address to the whitelist, and save the settings.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Note:

* Only public IP addresses are supported
* If your IP address changes, you need to update the whitelist in time, otherwise the proxy will not work properly
  {% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/SRq7ln3Ok0SkDGddSi3d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/rhNDdt5RWGd6TvkOJSMz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Directly Call the Proxy or API

After successfully adding the IP to the whitelist, you can call the API in API mode without providing username and password parameters. The system will automatically complete identity verification based on the request source IP.

<figure><img src="/files/5PhhX5w30PxobzuHAOTj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This method is especially suitable for long-running programs and server-side services, and can significantly reduce configuration complexity.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

#### Usage Recommendations and Precautions

● It is recommended to only add trusted fixed IPs to the whitelist\
● Do not add dynamic IPs or public network IPs at will\
● Regularly check and clean up IPs that are no longer in use\
● If multiple servers are used, add the corresponding outbound IPs separately

# Session Management

### Session Type

1024Proxy’s Unlimited Traffic & Bandwidth Plans offer two session modes to control how proxy IPs are assigned and used:

* Sticky IP Session
* Rotating IP Session

Different session types are suitable for different business scenarios. Choosing the right session mode can significantly improve stability, success rate, and account security.

### Sticky IP Session

A Sticky IP session means that the same IP address is assigned and used throughout a single session cycle. As long as the session does not expire or is not manually disconnected, all subsequent requests will continue to use the same IP.

With 1024Proxy, the sticky session duration can be set from 1 to 120 minutes, allowing a single IP to remain fixed for continuous requests during that period.

<figure><img src="/files/AgWcqhAF2pgMi5YIz0tx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Key Features

* ✅ IP remains unchanged during the session validity period
* ✅ User behavior appears more like that of a real user
* ✅ Reduces risk control issues caused by frequent IP changes
* ✅ Ideal for scenarios requiring login or continuous operations

#### Use Cases

* Account login and long-term online operations\
  (1–120 minutes; for longer-term operations, choose Long-Term Static ISP IPs)
* Social media account management (login, browsing, posting)\
  (1–120 minutes; for longer-term operations, choose Long-Term Static ISP IPs)
* Cross-border e-commerce store backend management\
  (1–120 minutes; for longer-term operations, choose Long-Term Static ISP IPs)
* Businesses that need to maintain cookies or session states
* Continuous request tasks in automation scripts

#### Usage Recommendations

* Use an appropriate session duration based on your needs
* Avoid high-frequency or abnormal behavior under the same IP
* If an IP becomes abnormal, manually start a new session to obtain a new IP

### Rotating IP Session

A Rotating IP session automatically assigns a different proxy IP for each request or within very short intervals, without requiring manual switching. There is no session duration setting, and the IP cannot remain fixed for a defined period.

#### Key Features

* 🔄 Automatic IP rotation for every request
* 🔄 High utilization of proxy pool resources
* 🔄 Effectively distributes access pressure
* 🔄 No need to maintain session states

#### Use Cases

* Large-scale web scraping and data collection
* Search engine result scraping
* Price monitoring and sentiment analysis
* Public data crawling without login requirements
* High-concurrency, short-request workloads

#### Usage Recommendations

* Not suitable for scenarios requiring login or persistent sessions
* Control request frequency to simulate real user behavior
* Combine with country / city / ASN parameters for precise IP rotation

### How to Choose the Right Session Type

| Usage Requirement | Recommended Session Type |
| ------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| Login required / identity persistence | Sticky IP Session |
| High-frequency access, no login | Rotating IP Session |
| Social media / e-commerce accounts    | Sticky IP Session                        |
| Web crawling / data collection | Rotating IP Session |
| Risk-control-sensitive operations     | Sticky IP + reasonable request frequency |

### Summary

The core difference between Sticky IP sessions and Rotating IP sessions in 1024Proxy lies in whether the IP remains stable.

Users can flexibly choose or combine session modes based on their needs for stability, concurrency, and anonymity, ensuring higher business success rates while maintaining security.

### Example Code

Below is an example using a Germany proxy IP, demonstrating how to set the session type by adding the parameters\
`-sid-Config Parameters-t-num` to enable timed IP rotation or automatic rotation.

#### Rotating IP Mode

In this mode, the IP is not fixed. A new IP is automatically assigned for each request.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

#### Sticky IP Mode

In this mode, the IP remains fixed for the configured sticky session duration.

HTTP(S)

```
curl -x HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE-sid-ENQzeWjG-t-5:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

SOCKS5

```
curl --socks5 HOST:PORT -U "USERNAME-region-DE-sid-ENQzeWjG-t-5:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

# Location Configuration

Users can flexibly configure parameters based on their specific business needs, achieving higher stability and success rates while maintaining anonymity and security.

### Country / Region

This parameter is used to specify the country or region to which a proxy IP belongs. It is the most fundamental and commonly used filtering option in proxy targeting.

In 1024Proxy, countries and regions are represented using ISO 3166-1 two-letter country codes (internationally standardized two-character country identifiers), for example:

* US → United States
* GB → United Kingdom
* DE → Germany
* JP → Japan
* KR → South Korea

By specifying the country/region parameter, users can precisely obtain local IP addresses from the target country. This is widely used in scenarios such as:

* Cross-border e-commerce
* Accessing overseas websites
* Localized content testing
* Ad placement verification

To look up country codes, [please visit this page](https://1024proxy.com/en/subject/resource/).

<figure><img src="/files/Ch49GvzfncDWuyvmrsWj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Code Example

#### Country / Region

The following example demonstrates how to request an IP from Indonesia by adding the `-region-ID` parameter, allowing the proxy protocol to target a specific regional IP.

**HTTP(S)**

```
curl -x bwxxx.1024proxy.io:000 -U "USERNAME-region-ID-sid-XX7t3mXR-t-5:xxxxxxxxx" ipinfo.io
```

**SOCKS5**

```
curl --socks5 bwxxx.1024proxy.io:000 -U "USERNAME-region-ID-sid-XX7t3mXR-t-5:xxxxxxxxx" ipinfo.io
```

# Username & Password Authentication

### What Is Username & Password Authentication?

Username & Password Authentication is a common and basic authentication method. When using a proxy, users are required to enter a username and password in the connection request. The proxy server first verifies the credentials, and only after successful authentication is access to network resources granted.

Key Features:

* ✅ No fixed local IP required; can be used in any network environment
* ✅ Flexible configuration, suitable for multiple users, multiple devices, or automated program calls
* ✅ Secure and controllable; passwords can be changed or accounts can be disabled at any time

# IP Whitelist

### What Is the 1024Proxy IP Whitelist Feature?

The IP Whitelist is an authentication method provided by 1024Proxy that allows proxy usage without username and password authentication.

In addition to the standard Username & Password Authentication method, the IP whitelist offers a more convenient and efficient authorization solution. By adding trusted public outbound IP addresses to the whitelist, the system can automatically identify the request source. As long as the request originates from a whitelisted IP, users can directly call the API and use proxy IPs without including a username or password in the request, greatly simplifying the configuration process.

### Core Advantages of IP Whitelisting

* ✅ No username/password required\
  Eliminates the need to expose credentials in code or tools
* ✅ Simpler configuration\
  Ideal for environments with fixed servers or cloud instances
* ✅ Secure and controlled access\
  Only whitelisted IPs are allowed to access proxy resources
* ✅ More suitable for automation\
  Fewer parameters, lower risk of configuration errors

For users with a fixed outbound IP address, the IP whitelist is a more stable and secure authentication method.

### Applicable Use Cases

The IP whitelist mode is particularly suitable for the following scenarios:

#### Automated Scripts & Web Crawlers

* Avoid hardcoding usernames and passwords in code
* Improve overall security

#### Enterprise-Level or Multi-Project Usage

* Multiple services can access proxies through the same outbound IP
* Easier centralized management

#### High-Concurrency API Calls

* Reduce authentication steps
* Improve request efficiency and stability

#### Security-Sensitive Businesses

* Prevent credential leakage or misuse

### How to Use the IP Whitelist

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Obtain Your Public Outbound IP

Before using the IP whitelist, confirm the public outbound IP of your device or server.\
You can obtain it by visiting an IP lookup website or by running relevant commands on your server.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add the IP to the Whitelist

Log in to the 1024Proxy user dashboard, go to the IP Whitelist page, add your public IP address to the whitelist, and save the settings.

<figure><img src="/files/85V95X9PvQSV1jRlcP5T" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/GuO1FeXQPU2qGefmNpxE" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Notes:

* Only public IP addresses are supported
* If your IP changes, be sure to update the whitelist in time; otherwise, the proxy will not work properly
  {% endhint %}
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Directly Call the Proxy or API

After successfully adding an IP to the whitelist, you can configure the proxy in third-party tools such as anti-detect fingerprint browsers by simply entering the hostname and port. There is no need to provide a username or password, as the system will automatically authenticate the request based on the source IP.

<figure><img src="/files/UGnqN3fd0wuiFJZ9iNNo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Best Practices & Precautions

* Only add trusted, fixed IP addresses to the whitelist
* Avoid adding dynamic IPs or public network IPs
* Regularly review and remove unused whitelisted IPs
* If using multiple servers, add each corresponding outbound IP separately

# Location Configuration

The 1024Proxy unlimited traffic port plan allows users to precisely select IPs from major countries and regions such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Users can flexibly combine parameters based on their specific business needs, achieving higher stability and success rates while maintaining anonymity and security.

#### Country / Region

This parameter is used to specify the country or region to which the proxy IP belongs. It is the most basic and commonly used filter in proxy targeting.

In 1024Proxy, countries and regions are represented using ISO 3166-1 two-letter country codes (internationally standardized 2-letter codes), for example:

* US → United States
* GB → United Kingdom
* DE → Germany
* JP → Japan
* KR → South Korea

By specifying the country/region parameter, users can accurately obtain local IPs from the target country. This is commonly used in scenarios such as cross-border e-commerce, accessing overseas websites, localized content testing, and ad placement verification.

To look up country codes, [visit this page.](https://1024proxy.com/en/subject/resource/)

#### Code Example

Country / Region

Below is an example demonstrating how to request an IP from the United States. By adding `-region-US`, the proxy protocol will be restricted to IPs from the specified country or region.

**HTTP(S)**

```
curl -x us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-st-Louisiana:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

**SOCKS5**

```
curl --socks5 us.1024proxy.io:3000 -U "USERNAME-region-US-st-Louisiana:PASSWORD" ipinfo.io
```

# Session Management

### Session Type

The 1024Proxy Unlimited Traffic – Port plan supports sticky sessions only.

### Sticky IP Session

A sticky session means that the proxy continuously assigns and uses the same IP address throughout a single session period. As long as the session has not expired or been manually disconnected, all subsequent requests will continue to use the same IP.

For the 1024Proxy Unlimited Traffic – Port plan, the sticky session duration ranges from 3 to 30 minutes. Users can configure a single IP to remain fixed for 3–30 minutes per session.

<figure><img src="/files/JcJroMt5ergaQv900fQF" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Applicable Scenarios for 3–30 Minute Sticky Sessions

3–30 minute sticky sessions are ideal for business scenarios that require stable IP access within a short period, while still benefiting from automatic IP rotation. Using the same IP during a session helps simulate natural, continuous user behavior, and once the session ends, the IP is automatically rotated—effectively balancing stability and anti-detection safety.

This mechanism is particularly suitable for video and streaming platform data scraping and page-level website content collection, where continuous access to list pages, detail pages, and comment pages is required. It helps prevent access interruptions or data loss caused by frequent IP changes.

It is also widely used in automated scripts, web crawlers, and AI / large-model data training tasks that run for extended periods. Sticky sessions ensure stable, uninterrupted data collection while reducing the risk of bans associated with long-term use of a single IP.

Overall, 3–30 minute sticky sessions are an ideal choice for high-concurrency and high-bandwidth applications, delivering an optimal balance of success rate, operational efficiency, and security.

# Browser Configuration

# How to Set Up Proxy in Google Chrome

In scenarios such as cross-border e-commerce, accessing overseas websites, social media operations, and data collection, it is often necessary to configure a proxy for Google Chrome to change IP addresses, hide the real network environment, or access region-specific content.\
This article will guide you step by step on how to set up a proxy for the Chrome browser from two perspectives: principle explanation and practical operation steps.

### 1. How Chrome Proxy Settings Work

First, it’s important to clarify one thing:

Google Chrome does not have a standalone proxy configuration interface.\
By default, it uses the operating system’s proxy settings.

That means:

* On Windows: Chrome uses the Windows system proxy
* On macOS: Chrome uses the macOS network proxy settings

If you want only a specific browser to use a proxy, you usually need to combine it with:

* Fingerprint browsers (such as GoLogin, Dolphin Anty, etc.)
* Proxy extensions (such as SwitchyOmega)

Below, we will introduce three common methods.

### 2. Method 1: Setting a Proxy via System Settings (Most Universal)

#### ✅ Suitable for:

* Beginners
* Temporary proxy usage
* Users who don’t mind all system applications using the proxy

#### Setting a Proxy for Chrome on Windows

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### **Open Chrome Settings**

* Open Google Chrome
* Click the three dots in the top-right corner

<figure><img src="/files/0teqU4qVgkE8loXudtDX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Go to Settings

<figure><img src="/files/IyINyUDELV0jQCsQuumv" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click System on the left

<figure><img src="/files/VptmmsjVOEY5NVkThJpU" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click Open your computer’s proxy settings

<figure><img src="/files/yU6dYbbPnpTASALf03fj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### **Configure Windows Proxy Settings**

* Enable Use a proxy server
* Enter the proxy details:
  * Address (IP)
  * Port

<figure><img src="/files/wszqqvC4GLyCw6vofH1o" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Chrome system proxy settings do not support entering a username and password directly.\
If your proxy uses username/password authentication (such as SOCKS5 with credentials), it is recommended to use Method 2 or Method 3.<br>
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### **Save and Test**

* Click Save
* Go back to Chrome and visit `ipinfo.io` or `iplark.com`
* If the IP address has changed, the proxy is working successfully
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

### 3. Method 2: Using a Chrome Proxy Extension (Recommended)

* Long-term Static ISP (sold by IP): A network proxy service based on fixed residential IP addresses. Its core feature is that the IP address remains stable and unchanged over time, sourced from real household broadband networks, offering high anonymity, reliability, and low risk of blocking. # What is the difference between Dynamic Residential Proxy and Short-term Residential IP?

Dynamic Residential Traffic vs. Unlimited Package:\
Dynamic Residential Proxy and Unlimited Packages differ in billing methods and application scenarios.

* Dynamic Residential Proxy is billed by traffic, where users pay based on the actual traffic consumed. It is better suited for individual users or small businesses with low traffic consumption. This type of proxy offers high flexibility and cost control, making it suitable for lightweight business scenarios.
* Unlimited Packages (including Unlimited Traffic - Port and Unlimited Traffic - Bandwidth) offer unlimited IPs, traffic, and sessions after purchase. Users don't need to worry about traffic consumption and can focus on their business. These packages are more suitable for large-scale data scraping or high-concurrency access in enterprise-level applications and long-term stable operations.

# Is 1024Proxy a private type or a shared type?

Our residential proxies are of the shared type, which means the same proxy resources may be used by other customers simultaneously. However, rest assured that our system will conduct intelligent allocation and assign you the proxy with the fewest current shared users.

On the other hand, our static residential proxies are of the private type. They are exclusively yours, with no sharing with others. In other words, as long as your order remains valid, you can keep using the same proxy all the time.

# Does 1024Proxy's residential IP have bandwidth limitations?

Residential IP can provide users with an extremely smooth and fast network connection experience. During use, there are no speed limitations. Whether it's for smooth playback of high-definition videos, fast downloading of large files, or playing games, you can enjoy stable and high-speed network support, ensuring your online activities are free from any lag.

However, the specific usage limits are not unrestricted but are clearly defined by the selected package level. Different package levels correspond to different resource quotas. It is particularly important to note that if you feel the current package does not meet your needs, you can upgrade or recharge your package at any time. By upgrading or recharging, you can easily increase your GB data allowance and also expand the usage limit of the IP, meeting the needs of multiple devices and scenarios using the network simultaneously.

# What is the difference between Dynamic Unlimited Port and Bandwidth Packages?

Both Unlimited Traffic - Port and Unlimited Traffic - Bandwidth are unlimited packages, and there are no restrictions on IPs, traffic, or sessions. The primary difference lies in the selling method and resource configuration, making them suitable for different business needs.

**Unlimited Traffic - Port Package** is sold by port and is more suitable for users with lower bandwidth and concurrent session requirements. It has a simple configuration, low entry barrier, and is more affordable, making it ideal for small to medium-sized businesses or early testing stages. It supports countries and regions like the UK, US, Germany, and France, with abundant IP resources.

**Applicable Business Scenarios:**

* Low-frequency web access and data collection
* Basic account logins and daily operations
* Small-scale crawlers or script tasks
* Testing environments and feature verification
* Cost-sensitive businesses with low concurrency requirements\
  👉 [More details](/unlimited-residential-traffic-port)

**Unlimited Traffic - Bandwidth Package** offers unlimited IPs, traffic, and sessions, and further provides clear bandwidth configuration parameters. Users can flexibly select bandwidth based on business needs, ensuring stability and efficiency in high-concurrency scenarios.

* High-concurrency web scraping and large-scale data collection

* Price monitoring, public opinion monitoring, and other high-frequency request services

For specific setup steps, refer to the page: [How to Set Up Proxy on Mobile](/integrationtutorial/how-to-set-up-proxy-on-mobile) and [How to Set Proxy IP for Third-party Proxies](/integrationtutorial).

# Why is the exported IP address different from the selected IP address?

Each IP detection website conducts queries based on a database. However, there are differences between the old and new databases, which leads to variations in the IP addresses, ISP types, locations, and other information retrieved. Nevertheless, some databases provide inaccurate IP information and have different update speeds. If this affects business operations, please contact the official customer service to change the IP address.
